Deep End is Remodeled;
Uncle Alberts To Open

"Uncle Alberts," formerly known as the "Deep End" will officially open soon. The gathering place for teenagers to go and hear popular groups is located at 702 Touhy Avenue in Park Ridge.

According to Mr. Victor Giovannini, Driver Education chairman, the new "Deep End" has two new owners. They are Don Danton of Park Ridge and John Prila, the leader of a popular rock group called "Jumbo." Both new partners are teachers.

Mr. Giovannini and his two new partners have completely remodeled the "Deep End." Now the upper part of the building will be the area in which all groups will perform, and this level will also be used for buying food and refreshments (which is another new feature.) The management has also installed a new stereo system in this part of the building which will be used during intermissions of the performances. In addition, the lower part of "Uncle Alberts" will be available for just sitting and talking or "whatever the kids enjoy."
Mr. Giovannini commented, "Uncle Alberts has completely changed. We have new owners and better groups, and the atmosphere is copied from the old Swiss chalet with the rustic look."

When asked why he made the sudden change in the "Deep End," Mr. Giovannini replied, "We're trying to create an atmosphere for college kids and high school juniors and seniors.''

Names of the groups which will be playing at "Uncle Alberts" can be heard on WCFL, in local advertisements, or by asking Mr. Giovannini.

Three more groups will be appearing at "Uncle Alberts" during the month of March. One group is "Rufus" (March 21) which has played all over the world and in Russia, and with Rufus will be "Rush." Appearing on March 25 will be "Jumbo," a 16-piece group featuring Bunky Green, an outstanding saxophone player who has recorded five of his own songs. Also playing will be "Eden Rock" with "Red Ball Jet" on March 31.

Although the setting is completely different, the admission price of "Uncle Alberts" has remained at $1.50-$2.
