Glenbrook S. Poses Tough Test In Golfers' Opening Meet |
||||||||||
| The 1972 season has begun for the Warrior golf squad. With two weeks of heavy practice a lot of thinking will have to be done by Coach Ken Olson in order to choose the starting five. Coach Olson has a lot of boys to choose from this year. Returning from the varsity squad of last season are Paul Witkay '72, Tom Runde '72, and Pete Olson '72. Also trying to make the team are members of the sophomore squad of last year. They are Jeff Potter 73, Craig Allind '73, Mark Wagner '73, Mike Adams '73, Dale Drufke '73, and Art Serbin '73. Sophomore standout, Glen Dalbke, will also be trying to make the squad. Coach Olson has a lot of work to do between now and March 30, the first meet of the year. The meet will be away |
and will be held on Prospect's home course. The first home meet of the year will not be until April 14 against Wheeling. The first three meets of the season will be non-conference meets. The first conference game of the season will be April 20 against conference champions Glenbrook South. The meet will be an away meet. This year Coach Olson is hoping for a better outcome at the end of the season. Maine West has never won a conference championship in golf, and this year's group of personnel could very well surprise some people and win the conference title. Home meets will be held at the Golden Acres Country Club in Schaumburg. |
