Senior Lounge Test Starts |
||||||||||
| During spring vacation an addition was added to Maine West. It was a new senior lounge. The lounge should be in effect by this time or early next week. It all depends on when the new furniture arrives and is set up. But it should be soon if it isn't open by now. The place to go will be R-209. All the desks have been removed and new furniture will be put in. The lounge will consist of a ping-pong table, a bumper-pool table, round tables for games like chess and checkers, which also have been ordered, comfortable chairs and couches, and a jukebox. When the lounge first opens, only seniors will be allowed to go. The size of crowd that gathers will determine whether or not |
juniors will be allowed to participate in the fun. Since the lunch area outside will also be opened, the lounge might not draw much of a crowd and juniors might then be allowed to use it before the year is out. Plans are being made so that next year all the students, freshmen through seniors, will have a chance to go. This depends upon how well the seniors behave and how well the whole plan of the lounge works out. The procedure for the lounge will be that seniors may go anytime during the day, their PAR periods, and their lunch periods - all during the day from first until ninth. When you have study hall, you stop there first and fill out a pass and then go to the lounge and turn the pass in. The pass then will be returned to your study hall teacher at the end of the day to show that you went to the lounge. |
