Bouchee, Mitchell Lead Warriors To 12-0 Victory Over Prospect

Is there a strike going on in high school baseball too? It seemed that way to many of the baseball players as the varsity played one game and the sophomores and freshmen have yet to play due to the inclement weather. Mother Nature cancelled the games with wet grounds and an unseasonable four-inch deposit of snow.

The only game played was on Thursday, April 6, as the varsity traveled to Prospect High School. The Warriors were over- powering with their offense as they trounced them 12-0. The 12-0 score had highlights like this: a six-run first inning, a four for four day at the plate by Chris Bouchee '73, a three for three day for Roger Blumer '73, and an inside the park grand-slam home run for Mark Ackermann '73 in the first inning.

The Warrior pitching was superb as Frank Mitchell '72 pitched four innings, giving up only three hits. Mark Ackermann pitched two innings to close out the six-inning, game and preserve the shutout.

All levels of baseball practiced hard over the spring vacation, trying to keep in shape for the season. The first conference game was scheduled for Monday, as the Warriors played Niles West here, weather permitting, at 4:15 p.m.
Practices have consisted of batting practice and base running. The teams have looked great in practice and are anxiously awaiting the season.
