GRA Springs Into Action |

| The archery team will hold tryouts this week. The team is practicing f o r competition against Glenbrook North, Glenbrook South, Barrington, Maine North, and Evanston. They will meet on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Miss Kenyon, head of girls' athletics, commented, "The archery team had a successful fall season, being beaten only twice by Glenbard North." Returning top archers from the fall competition are number one archer Jeanne Wolf '74, Mary Vanoy '74, Mary Gunderson '75, Mary Pat Klein '75, Anne Price '74, and Beth O'Shonesee '74. The badminton team will be playing Maine South on Tuesday, April 18. Conference-wise, the team was highly successful with only one loss to Barring-ton. There will be an invitational tournament at Maine West on April 29. The badminton team will be attending an invitational May 6 for their last competition. |
The softball team will practice April 17, 19, and 21. Their record from last year was 25. They expect to have possibly four meets in the spring. The girls' track team from last fall will compete in the Maine West District Track Meet late in May. Miss Kenyon commented, "The opportunities for girls to participate on teams representing Maine West is extensive during the fourth quarter. Next year, more competition opportunity will be offered for girls as the Central Suburban League develops." |
