Trackmen Come on Strong, Topple H.H., N.W., G.B.S.

On May 4 the Warriors held their first duel night track meet ever, and they walloped Hinsdale South on all three levels. The final score on the varsity level was 90-37. The sophomore level showed the Warriors on top, 78-48. The frosh won by a score of 87-35.

Kevin Wright '72 and Bill Klippert '74 led the way with two first apiece. Wright's came in the 2-mile and mile, and Klippert's came in the high and low hurdles. Ron Siska '72, Klippert '74, and Larry Franzen '73 swept the long jump for the trackmen. Dave Farmer '72 and Greg Klebe '74 finished first and second in the 880.

Wayne Gyssler '72 won the pole vault with a 13'6"-his best vault ever, and Ken Meyers '73 won the high jump.
The cindermen had their first home meet of the season on May 2. Glenbrook North edged the Warriors 82-80. Niles West was a distant third with 60.

Wright and Chip Barbour '73 got the cindermen rolling with a first and second in the 2-mile. They also did the same in the mile. Klippert won the high hurdles but slipped while in the lows and didn't place. Franzen grabbed a first in the 100-yard dash and third in the 440. Gyssler won the pole vault.

In the Niles North Invitational on April 25 the Warriors finished eighth out of the 12 teams entered. Franzen grabbed a second in the low hurdles, and Wright placed second in he mile. The sophomore team finished in a tie for second.

The cindermen traveled to Glenbrook South for a triangular on April 18. Deerfield was first with 86 points. The Warriors were second with 83, and South was third with 54.
