'Primary Predictions' Features Current Trends in Fashions

"Primary Predictions," the Home Economics Department's annual fashion show, was presented last night in the auditorium. The decorations, which centered on the elections, included flags and ballots in red, white, and blue.

The show tried to highlight the various styles which have been most popular in the last few months and trends which have started for spring and summer.

Blazers and battle jackets were shown in many variations. The new easy pants and the full leg pants were also shown. Many of the girls made and modeled their prom dresses. The fitted waist was emphasized. There was no preferred length as the length varied from hot pants to maxi dresses.

The clothing design class presented a section which was inspired by a popular designer interest or which showed a re-flection of a trend from the past.
Mrs. Chloe Pahigianis, cochairman for the show along with Mrs. Lynn Maclntyre, stated, "The girls have worked with a lot of new fabrics. This year's show has a lot of different styles, but the battle jacket seems to be one of the most popular."

Mrs. Lucille Stiles, departm e n t chairman, presented Mary Makuch '72 with her Betty Crocker Homemaker of the Year charm during the show.

The narrators were Sandy Quellmalz '73, Pat Berner '75, Diana Wagner '73, Sue Robertson '74, Gail Vogel '74, and Rosemary Logisz '74. Program chairmen and general organizers were Gail Vogel '74 and Peggy Klein '73. M-Club provided escorts for the girls on stage.

Miss Beret Olson's foods classes prepared the refreshments, which were provided during the intermission. A group of music minded students provided the background of sound. They included: Terry Bernett '73, saxaphone; Dave Hoch '73, bass; James Polanek '72, guitar; Bob Steinman '73, drums; and Neil Wille '74, piano.
