Squad Selected

The Pom-Pon Squad for 1972-73 was chosen on May 12. Before each girl could try out, she had to have the signature of a parent, no grade lower than a C, and the signatures of all of her teachers.

Tryouts began with preliminaries on Wednesday, May 10; and 58 girls were taught a routine to "Thanks for the Memories." From these girls 27 were selected to go on to the finals where the girls had one night to learn a routine to "Get Ready."
Finals were held on Friday, May 12. The girls were told that those who made it would be notified later that evening.

The 20 girls were traditionally picked up by old members of the squad, in a furnished bus, and were brought to Miss Haka's for a celebration.

The judges at the tryouts were Mr. Robert Norris, Mrs. Kathy Lawyer, Miss Linda Haka, sponsor; Kathy Jordan '72, this year's co-captain; and Karla Felde '72, this year's captain.
