| By NAOMI RUCK What is U and U Society? What does the U and U Society do? What does it stand for? U and U Society is the club that used to be known as Usherettes Club. U and U Society is a group of people dedicated to helping people. U and U Society works for the performances put on at school. There are a few performances at Maine West that do not ask for our services. Each person in the society ushers or takes tickets because he or she wants to and does not expect anything in return. |
The U and U Society has ushered and taken tickets for the past two years and never really had any formal recognition until May 11, 1972, at the Ferrante and Teicher concert. At the end of the show, the announcer formally thanked us and made the Society feel super good. Other things we have ushered for in the past have been the V-Shows, Senior Class Play, and Open House. We took coats, tickets, and served refreshments at the Junior Prom. We have done many other jobs on just a day or two's notice. The U and U Society is here to serve the school in the best way it can. All of the time we spend on the services we perform for the school are for the benefit of students faculty, parents, and visitors. Service is the name of our game. |
