District Tennis Features Two
In the District Tennis Tournament held at Maine West, May 13-16, Jack Semler '73 fared well in the first round as he defeated Curt Mioz of Maine North 6-3, 6-4. In the second round Semler was defeated by Gary Pederson of Forest View 6-0, 6-2. Jim Lauffenberger '74 played Carl Newfeld of Glenbrook East in the first round and was defeated 6-1, 6-2.

In the tournament doubles Steve Wild '73 and John Ander-son '73 defeated Al Desinome and Mike Jezioto of Wheeling 6-1, 6-1 in the first round. In the second round again they trounced Kirchner and Hoskins of Forest View 6-2, 6-2.
 Again in the third round the team of Wild and Anderson defeated Bristol and Meyer of Glenbrook East 6-2, 6-3. Wild and Anderson were defeated in the semi-finals by Elk Grove but still qualified for the state finals.

Also in tournament doubles Roger Junge '72 and Joe Thimm '73 were defeated by Varccetto and Carlson of Glenbrook East.
