Dist. To Sponsor Colleges at West

Fall College Night for all high schools located in District 207 will be held here Thursday, October 14. The program, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., is open to all students attending any of the four area schools - West, East, South, and North.

Parents are welcome to attend. Although members of all classes are invited, emphasis will be placed on assisting seniors to finalize their selections of a college and curriculum. The program, however, will be valuable for all, according to Mr. James Killam, career counselor.

Representatives from approximately 160 universities, colleges, and junior colleges from all over the country will be available to provide information and answer any questions relating to the fields of study offered by their particular institutions and any other aspects of campus life.

In addition, special interest schools involved in such fields as nursing, art, business, etc., will be represented in the sessions.
It is important for students to attend so they can have the opportunity to meet with the representatives personally. This will enable them to get the information first hand and have points they may be confused about clarified on the spot, thus getting the maximum benefit from the program.

The primary purpose of the school spokesmen is to provide information and not to attempt to influence students to attend the schools they are representing. Their function is not recruiting.

The program will consist of three half-hour sessions and a fourth browsing session where the students and their parents will be able to talk to more representatives in the gym and cafeteria, where the various schools will have information tables set up.
