| Mr. Ladd Publishes New Geometry Book Mr. Norman Ladd, chairman of the Mathematics Department, with the assistance of Mr. Paul Kelly of the University of California, has just completed a new book which is titled Elements of Geometry. Mr. Ladd and Mr. Kelly have previously worked together to turn out four other books that include Geometry and Analytical Geometry, which are high school texts. Mr. Ladd has also published articles in several journals. Last chance to order a yearbook will be Thursday, October 21. Legend sales begin Thursday, October 14, in the cafeteria during all lunch periods. The books cost either $5 now or $3 now and $2.50 in the spring. |
Senior ACT (American College Tests) are scheduled for Satur-day, October 16. It is suggested that every student, juniors and seniors, take this test. The test gives a variety of information to both the colleges and the student. The date for the juniors' National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 19. By awarding as many scholarships as possible to students with higher scores, the scholarship corporation tries to encourage students to attend college. The Junior PTA Party will be held on the evening of Friday, October 15, from 7 to 10. Refreshments will he served in the cafeteria while there will be an opportunity to roller skate or go to the dance. Parents of junior students are invited and needed to assist. |
