Are Drugs Worth It?
The hearse pulled away from the cemetery leaving the sobbing mourners behind. A teenager had just been laid to rest as a result of a drug overdose.
Keith just wanted to keep in with the crowd. The crowd is still going, nobody knows for how long; but Keith is out of it forever.
Drug addiction is a serious illness and prevents people from fulfilling their duties to society.
It has proven to be harmful, so why take them?
Keith took it just to be in with the crowd. They did it, so he did it, and what has he gained?
So many people just can't face up to reality. They think that if they get high they won't have to think about their problems. When and if you ever come down, reality will still be there, so why risk your life?
Some take it because they're bored and have nothing better to do. I know Des Plaines might not be the most swinging town there is, but can't you find something to do? If you could just keep yourself active, you wouldn't have time to think about drugs.
If you think it's a good way to get back at your parents or someone else, give up! You're fighting a losing battle, and you're only hurting yourself.
Don't let worries and fears get to you. Problems that you have aren't as big as you make them out to be. If you can just analyze your problems you'll see they're not all that bad.
Worrying about problems only causes tension and can lead to a nervous breakdown. It's your health and nobody is going to take care of it for you..
If you start taking drugs, even the small ones they'll lead up to the hard drugs sooner or later and then it'll be too late. If you haven't started, don't; and if you have, seek some kind of help. Can you go on forever taking them? It costs a lot of money, and where will you get the money for the next bunch? Think about it.
Withdrawal from drugs is very difficult, and many times the person doesn't seek help soon, enough and can die. Is it too late for you?
