Intramurals

Intramural basketball has the junior and senior classes involved in round robin tournament playing.

Round robin tournament occurs when a team is not eliminated by one or two loses, as in the previous games, but instead the team builds a record of wins, loses, and ties.

This year there are five senior teams and four junior squads. At this time senior John Woodley's team, Coach Richard Carlini's third hour class, is tied for first place honors with senior Pete Kesaris' squad of Coach Carlini's fifth period group.

The junior class shows Bruce Terry's team from Coach Carlini's sixth hour in first place.

On January 10-14, the playoffs are scheduled bringing a close to the tournaments. The conclusion will mark the organization of basketball teams on the frosh and soph level.
Monday, January 17, will be the senior free throw finals, followed by the junior class free throws, Tuesday, January 18.

Intramurals will be offering trophies to two boys from each class who have participated most in the intramurals program, as is the custom that began 10 years ago.

Every person who competes in the intramural sports has a record of points, and the two from each class who have the greatest number of points will be awarded trophies.

Felt patches are also awarded to everyone on championship teams and to the individual who wins a class tournament.
