Sophomore Girls Highlight Months |
||||||||||
| Thirteen girls were chosen for the 1972-73 calendar. Calendar girls have traditionally been elected from the sophomore class. Two girls were nominated from each sophomore homeroom, one from the class at large, and one from the homeroom itself. These girls names were then put on a ballot. All sophomores were allowed to vote for three of the girls. The number of girls was narrowed down to 26. These girls appeared on stage during a sophomore assembly on Wednesday, December 15. Each girl had been told to get an escort. Sophomores were directed to vote for two girls. The girl receiving the most votes, Jan Scheuneman, was elected to be the cover girl. The 12 other girls met on Monday, January 3, to pick their months. |
Karen Gutzmer has chosen January; Becky Guenther picked February; Adrienne Szczygiel obtained March; Bernadette Binder took April; Kris Beedy received May; and Grace Wright has June. The other six girls are Vicki Richardson, who received July; Noreen Jakacki, who took August; Daryl Larson, who has September; Rita Dolan, who picked October; Joan Bevacqua, who obtained November; and Carol Anteloc, who chose December. The reason for elections being held so early is so that real snow may be used in the winter pictures. Snow has never been used before. Preceding Jan Scheuneman's cover picture there will be a page with a collage of school events. This was done in order that the cover would receive more recognition. The girls had their pictures taken on Wednesday, January 5, to be displayed in the school. |
