News Briefs Winter Formal Theme Is 'Silhouettes in the Snow' |

| Tickets for the winter formal went on sale Wednesday, Jan. 12. They are being sold in the bookstore, and the price per couple is $2.25. The theme of the formal is "Silhouettes in the Snow." It will be held on Saturday, January 29, in the auditorium. This semester's finals will be held on January 26, 27, and 28. The periods for finals on these days will run from 8:10-9:40 am., 9:50-11:20 am., and 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. On January 26 finals for periods 1, 7, and 6 will take place. There will be finals for periods 2, 8, and 5 on January 27. On January 28 finals will be held for periods 3, 9, and 4. Maine West's Student Council will be sponsoring a pancake breakfast on Saturday, February 12. The breakfast will run from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The profit |
made from this breakfast will be donated to the Forgotten Children's Fund. The price of the tickets will be $1 for adults and $.75 for children. Student Council will also be sponsoring two movies, which will be held on February 11. The movies will run from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 am. They will include the Little Rascals and the Keystone Cops. The price of admission will be $.25. The seniors were the winners in the penny drive held by Maine West. They donated $52.70. The Junior Class was next with $51.90. The sophomores donated $27.45 and the Freshman Class donated $22.55. Students also contributed 514 cans of food. |
