||||||||||
| A.F.S. and Maine West will be hosting 18 foreign exchange students the weekend of January 20-23. These students are like our A.F.S. student, Hamid Rahim. They are foreign students spending a year for study at neighboring schools. Also, some of the students, who have been invited, are A.F.S. returnees. These are American students who have spent a year or a summer in a foreign country for study. The countries these students will be representing include: Columbia, England, Germany, Belgium, Japan, France, Thailand, India, Iran, Brazil, Norway, Bolivia, Afghanistan, and Turkey. |
The students will be arriving at approximately 5:30 p.m., on Thursday, January 20. A brief orientation of the weekend will be given. On Friday the students will attend school with their host brother or sister. Planned speeches to different classes will be given by these students. On Saturday, January 22, a bus trip to the Museum of Science and Industry has been planned, with a pot luck dinner Saturday evening. On Sunday the exchange students will spend time with their host families leaving for their homes around 3 p.m. They will have left behind a fun-filled weekend and many new friends. |
