| What are your feelings about the recent defeat of the referendum? Sue Slater '73 - If the referendum was passed, it would have highered the taxes in this area. If there is anything this area doesn't need, it's higher taxes. As far as teachers go, they make enough bread as it is. Bill Head '71 - I think it's really bad because the students will be forced to learn what the school wants them to. Dianne Daniels '74 - It was sort of good and sort of bad. New and special courses will be pushed off the program along with their teachers. But then how much more can our parents be asked to pay for higher educational costs? Chris Donahue '72 - It's too bad that some people are too weak to care about the education of their children and their surroundings. Without education what is there? Carol Anderson '73 - They could have come to a better solution. Get rid of study halls. Sue Idstein '75 - I didn't want to get any smarter anyways. Gigi Rumzis '75 - What's that? Jeff Solburg '74 - It don't make no sense. Sue Connolly '72 - Teachers should have given up the few days pay, rather than all the hassles. Carl Wells '73 - Bad, because they're gonna fire the new teachers and cut back on the classes that relate directly to people and today's needs such as psychology and humanities. Debbie Michaelsen '74 - They're taking away the only enjoyable courses we have. Brad Bonnivier '75 - I can't afford the taxes, and my education is good now. Colleen Kelly '72 - It was o.k. because the school wastes money on such insignificant things like trophy display cases. It could be put to much better use. Ann Cozzi '74 - I don't know and I really don't care. Holly Brown '72 - I think if the school doesn't get the extra money, the school will get even worse because they're cutting out all the good classes like humanities. But if I was a property owner, I wouldn't welcome an increase in taxes, either. Dave MacCartie '75 - What's that? Dave Bilske '74 - I don't give a darn either way. Mrs. Elizabeth Elliott I think it's bad because apparently the parents are not willing to shoulder the cost. Today's student can take much more than the three r's, reading, riting, and rithmetic. If they want their children to take more, they should be willing to pay for it. Kevin Jordan '74 - I HATE IT Kathy Melvin '75 - I think it is really rotten. Maria Nudi '75 - It doesn't really matter to me. Scott Robinson '74 - Oh, you mean the bullfighting arena? Jean Trovillion '75 - I don't know what the referendum was about. Mike Sabacinski '73 - It's a shocking blow to the history of mankind. Laura Schlagel '74 - I think it's too bad. Kathy Fox '73 - It doesn't matter because the money the school gets is only used to continue obsolete systems of education anyway. Steve Legg '72 - I don't know what the whole thing was about. |
