Tankmen Grab Fifth at R-B, Face Glenbrook N. Tonight
At the Riverside-Brookfield Invitational, that was held in Riverside on Saturday, January 8, the tankmen finished fifth out of 20 teams. The swimmers from Maine West captured that place with 82 points.

Larry Bierwirth '73, who is second in state in the backstroke, finished sixth in the 100-yard free style and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke. The 200-yard medley relay team, which rates eleventh in state, consists of Steven Dueball '72, Stephan Mammoser '72, Larry Bierwirth, and Dave Dettman '72. They finished second out of 20 teams.

Garyt Dahl '73 finished sixth in the 400, and Dave Dettman finished seventh in the 400-yard and sixth in the 200-yard. Steve Dueball finished sixth in the 400-yard breast stroke.
 So far this year the varsity squad is 6-2 in the conference. On Friday, January 7, against Niles West the freshmen tankmen lost by a score of 44-51. Tonight, January 14, the tankmen will go against the tankmen from Glenbrook North there at 6:15 p.m.
