Social Science Events

Since February was designated American Heritage month by the D.A.R. Tri-S is celebrating with their Faces in History Contest.

There are 100 numbered figures on display in a glass case opposite the LRC. A $25 savings bond will be awarded to the first person who correctly identifies all the faces. If no one identifies all the faces, the person closest will win. Forms are available in C-222.
The second contest is sponsored by the American Legion and the Social Science Department. First prize is a $300 college scholarship. The contest itself is the thirty-seventh annual Constitution one. Anyone can compete. The written test is in April with the 10 top winners competing in an oral test. Questions will be given by• Des Plaines Legionnaires.

For a selected group of seniors next year there will be a special class - clinical government. G.O.P. and Democrat students will work in political organizations. The purpose of the course is to arouse interest in politics. To give an unbiased air, there will be an even number of students from the parties. The instructor will be Mr. Eric Edstrom.
