Cindermen Off to Slow Start, Face Bloom, East Moline

At the Panther Relays held at Proviso West on February 19, the varsity finished a dismal twelfth and the sophomores captured a fourth. Twelve teams were entered.

Kevin Wright '72 placed second in the two-mile. Gary Holub '72 finished fifth in the 660-yard dash; and the sprint relay team of Bob Chapman '73, Bob Hicklin '73, Larry Franzen '73, and Scott Pischke '73 took fifth.

Greg Klebe '74 captured a second in the 880-yard run, Kevin Skahan '74 placed third in the mile. Bill Klippert '74 grabbed firsts in the high and low hurdles.

The next meet will be held on February 26 at Bloom. The conference meet will be held at Maine East on March 4.
The cindermen were at Lyons on Thursday, February 10. The varsity got firsts in the twomile - Wright, high and low hurdles - Klippert, and shotput - Steve Suckow '72. They were defeated 67-41.

Last Friday night the freshman track team defeated Maine South 83 to 26. Winners were Gary Brenner, two-mile, Randy Van Vieck, high hurdles and the 440, and Bill Mraz in the 50-yard dash.

Jim Loris grabbed first in the 880, Sikong took first in low hurdles, and Joe Paul finished first in the mile run. Bill Wadman and Mike Janonis took second in high jump and shotput respectively.
