Folk Sounds Sings
At Valentine Party

On February 14, the Maine West Folk Sounds performed at Forest Hospital in Des Plaines. The 18 members, appearing as the entertainment for the patient and staff Valentine party, sang "Today," "Sound of Silence," and their own version of the Coke song.

Sue Sciez and Steve Schaeffel sang "Feelin' Groovy," and Peg Hartigan sang "The Red Baron," accompanying herself on the guitar. Wayne Kuhn and Scot Norris did a novelty number, "Big Blue Frog."
Other members of the group include Diane Reed, president; Nancy Seitz, secretary; Ron Williams, Kathy Crews, Steve Mirro, Sue Tabaka, Sue Henderson, Pat Gale, Donna DeWaele, Rose Martini, and Jim Moore.

Folk Sounds has been formed this year from students who enjoy singing and/or playing guitars. Some musical experience is a requisite to joining the group.

They will performed at the National Honor Society tea on Wednesday, March 8. Sponsors of the group are Miss Ruth Nickelson and Mr. Robert Twohill.
