Girls Ask Dates |

| Rainy Daze," this year's Girls' Choice Dance, will be held tomorrow night in the auditorium. Tickets for the dance are being sold in the bookstore. The price is $2 per couple. Refreshments will be served. Speech Contest Held Two plays were presented on Thursday, March 2. They were entitled "Standing Room Only or Sorry, the Rice is Gone" and "Waiting for the Bus." The former was this year's Readers' Theatre production. It was under the direction of Mrs. Mariann Sullivan, English teacher. David Franks '74 was the narrator and Daryl Larson '74 was the intercessor. The chorus included: Frank Mrozek '73, Holly Hanson '74, Tary Socha '74, Kathy Evans '75, and Theresa Zilleox '74. Others were Allen Bollet '72, Heidi Hanson '72, Dennis Corcoran '74, Bob Repta '72, Diane Gatsis '72, and Kim Beedy '72. "Waiting for the Bus" was the Contest Play production. The director was Mr. Robert Norris, drama teacher. It was in district competition last Saturday and placed third. Those participating were Sharon Gragg '72, Ben Adair '72, Robert Konopacz '73, and Nine Leone '73. The stage director was Diane Gatsis '72 and the state man-ager was Brett Barnard '73. In individual events Russell Jacoby '72 placed fourth in extempore speaking, Robert Scarola '72 first in original monologue, Roy Chapman 74 second in radio speaking, Su Siecz '73 first in prose reading, Frank Mrozek '73 fourth in oratorical declamation, Nancy Seitz '73 second in dramatic interpretation, Brock Akers '74 third in after-dinner speaking, and Kim Beedy '72 third in verse reading. |
Gymnasts Hold Demonstration Gymnastics Club will be holding a combination demonstration-dinner on Thursday, March 16, from 6-8 p.m. From, 6-6:45 there will be a gymnastics demonstration in B-wing gym. There will also be demonstrations in free exercise, on the balance beam, trampoline, and on the uneven bars. From 7-8 there will be a potluck dinner in the cafeteria. The tickets will be sold at $1 for adults and $.75 for students with ID. Project BIG Is Coming The third annual Project Big will take place on Tuesday, March 21. It will be held at Maine South in the gymnasium. It will start at 7 p.m. and last until 10. Project Big is a district career night. There will be 120 different occupations represented and 175 people representing them. Sophomores Plan Party The Sophomore Class P.T.C. party will be held on Saturday, April 29. There will be a variety of events going on. The events include: volleyball, swimming, roller skating, and a dance. Pizza and Coke are to be served. |
