Get Involved Join Pep Club

Pep Club is an organization open to all students interested in increasing and promoting school spirit. Pep Club is involved in many activities throughout the school year, but two of their main activities are their annual candy sale, and the providing of pep buses for all away games.

Membership is open at any time during the school year. The cost is only fifty cents. When a student becomes a member he is entitled to four free rides on the pep bus to any away basketball or football game. Each member receives a point card where all points accumulated are recorded. Each activity attended is worth a number of points.

The Pep Club points system is as follows: Home football or basketball games ‑ 1 point; Away football o r basketball games ‑ 2 points; All other sports events ‑ 2 points; All other away sports events ‑ 3 points; Freshman home games 3 points; and Freshman away games ‑ 4 points. When a member accumulates 400 points, he receives a radio and has a chance in the drawing of a T.V. at the end of the year.

Mr. Joe Jobst, sponsor of Pep Club, states, "My main purpose is to put students back actively in student affairs and make them proud of Maine West."

Pep Club wants your support. They want to increase student participation in all athletic events. Jan Andrews '73, president of Pep Club, says, "I'm not guaranteeing everything we try will work, but we're going to try to get everyone involved especially during Homecoming."
