Badminton has started with the Maine West girls' team remaining undefeated. For the first game the girls faced Niles East leaving Maine West victorious with a score of 7‑0. In a non‑conference game against Barrington, Maine West once again found victory in a final score of 6‑1. Then competing against Niles West and Deerfield, Maine West kept its undefeated title with scores of 7‑0 and 6‑1 respectively.

At this printing there have been four meets, with the last home meet against Niles North on Wednesday, March 14. League play-offs will be held at New Trier with Maine West favored to win the divisionals. Taking into account the strength of the team so far, our strongest competitors are anticipated to be Maine East and New Trier West. Three more

games are left this season with the girls facing Maine South on March 8, Niles North on March 14, and Maine North on March 20.

The girls' badminton team this year is coached by Miss Royleen Tipton and consists of the following girls: Kim Tuttle '74, first singles; Bonnie Serone '73, second singles; Monica Polacek '74, third singles; and Kathy Shuttleworth '73, fourth singles.

Included in the doubles division are Denise Bell '73 and Jean Anderson '73, first doubles; Karen Neetz '74 and Kathy Zyrkowski '73, second doubles; Kathy Sahs '73 and Carol Gustafson '73, third doubles.
