Trackmen Grab Meet 55‑51

After splitting the Bloom Triangular and Panther Relay at Proviso West, the Warrior indoor track team met at Maine South for a six school conference meet and won 55 to 51. In the meet senior Chip Barbour finished first in the two-mile run and fourth in the one-mile event. Dan Myzka '74 finished fifth in the 50‑yard dash. He was preceded by Bob Chapman '73 who placed second.

Bill Klippert '74 took first place in both the high and low hurdles and also took place in winning the 880-yard relay. The team, incidentally, took first place. The 880-yard run saw Greg Klebe '74 take home first

place. Although the charging Warriors placed second in the mile relay, it was that competition which gave them their narrow margin of victory.

The sophomores, however, had no worries about microscopic leads because they demolished the opposition as their nearest challenger was 27 points away. Winning this important meet gave the Warriors a firmer grip on first place in their division. If the freshman squad can squeeze out a victory on March 5 at Maine East, the Warriors will then have a chance to win the "triple crown" by hoping that the three levels will remain in their lofty positions until the season ends on March 24.
