That Time of Year - Aquiana,
Orchesis Club To Present Shows

"Perfect Harmony," Aquiana's annual water ballet show, will be presented April 5, 6, and 7 at 8 p.m. in the pool. This year's show will have examples of culture from around the world. "Perfect Harmony" has much to offer in the way of spreading world peace by accepting other nations for what they have to offer.

The show includes acts such as "Dance of the Dragons," "Arctic Waters," "Stars 'n Stripes," "Aloha from Hawaii," "Zulu," "The World Laughs With a Clown," and a finale entitled "The World Is a Circle."

Sue Jenik '73 will perform a solo entitled "Indonesian Intrigue." There will be two duet acts. "From the Hills" stars Nancy Franklin '74 and Stacy Vandevusse '75. Jo Ann McAndrews '74 and Jacque Samp '73 will be featured in "Run Spy Run."

"Flaming Fiesta" will star Cathy Clausen '73, Jill Falstad '73, and Sue Jenik '73. Another trio will feature Carol Cahill '74, Cathy Clausen '73, and Nancy Franklin '74 in "Leprechauns."

This year's officers of Aquiana are Sue Jenik, president; Jill Falstad, vice-president; and Carol Cahill, secretary. Jill Falstad commented, "The club is working very hard three nights a week to make this one of the best shows ever. Some of the girls are in as many as six acts.''

Mrs. Terry Milam is very optimistic about the show.

"Much money was spent on the costumes, and the music will give the show much class," stated Mrs. Milam.

Tickets are being sold by all members. Aquiana would like you to come to the show and watch them "teach the world to swim in Perfect Harmony!"

For months now the Maine West Orchesis Club has been planning, practicing, building, and sewing for their yearly dance show entitled "Tailor Made." The show will be Friday, April 13, and Saturday, April 14, in the auditorium at 8 p. in.

There will be 18 interpretive dances this year. Dances range from character dancing, jazz, classical, modern and ballet, including two solos and two duets. The soloists will be Elaine Caras '74, who will do a ballet number, and Nancy Evans '73 with a jazz number. The performers Carol Slivka '74 and Mary Freemire '73, both as the Mad Hatters, and Carol Kent '75 and Diana Burmann '74 doing Broadway Biz, a tap and Broadway number.

Other titles of dances are Elegance, Desolation of Space, Miracle of Life, Outcasts, Greek Maidens, and Shadows and Emotions are just a few.

Beginning Orchesis, which is a new branch of the dance club as of this year. will be doing their own number called Toys for Tots.

All of the 31 girls designed and made their own costumes, chose the music, and choreographed their own dances.

Mrs. Susan Gelz, sponsor of Orchesis, commented about the show's progrsss so far. "I'm very pleased with what we have, and I know with the cooperation I'm getting, I'll be even more pleased the nights of the show."

The sets used in "Tailor Made" were built by Mr. Robert Pelikan. Carol Jensen '73 is chairman of the stage crew for the show. Roy Chapman '74 will be announcing each dance both nights.

Tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria the week of the show and by Orchesis members a week before the show. Ticket prices are adults, $1; students, $.75; and under six, $.50.
