Trouble for Diamondmen

The Maine West baseball team has begun practicing, and things are already looking good. Commenting on his team was head Coach Al Carstens when he said, "We feel we have a good ball club, weather permitting."

Returning lettermen Roger Blumer '73, Chris Bouchee '73, Mark Eichorn '73, Paul Kosac '73, and Bill Slapke '73 will be carrying much of the team weight. Coach Carstens said that "As all ball teams, our game will revolve around our six pitchers."

Hurlers Jim Olsen '74, Kosac, and Dave Raymond '73 will see a lot of action as will Joel Just '74, Jay Liggett '74, and Ralph Amelio '73. Carstens also indicated that this year's squad will be a good defensive ball club and has depth.

But despite these facts, the diamondmen will have a bit of trouble this coming season, that trouble coming from the competition in the CSL. As Coach Carstens put it, the CSL is "the toughest league in the state."
