Tennis Team Gets Ready for Season

The 1973 Maine West tennis Warriors are getting ready for the upcoming season. The head coach is Mr. Roger King, now in his tenth year at Maine West; Mr. Michael Burke, in his first year here, is assistant coach.

The team record for 1972 was eight wins and seven losses. Among the wins last year was Elk Grove 3‑2 (second in Mid-Suburban), Prospect 4‑1 (third in Mid‑Suburban), and West Aurora 4‑1 (upstate 8 champs).

This year's returning letter­ men are Steve Wild '73 (Steve qualified for State in doubles last year and is a ranking Chicago District Association player), John Anderson '73 (also qualified for State in doubles last year and the year before), Jack Semler '73, Joe Thimm '73, and Doug Meister '73.

Other varsity candidates are Steve Niles '74, Ed Adelman '74, Frank Lux '74, Russ Bulmer '74, Mark Peterman '74, Jeff Trecker '75, and Jim Wittbold '75.
