Trackmen Triumph At East

The Maine West Warriors last week won the Blue Demon Relays held at Maine East with 71 1/2 points, outscoring second place Fremd by 16 1/2 points. Maine East surprisingly took third place with a point total of 46.

"We have a lot of talent on the lower levels. That's what won it for us," remarked head varsity Coach Ron Brown.

The Warriors won five of the 13 events. Maine West sensation, Bill Klippert '74, tied a meet record in the 50‑yard hurdles with an excellent time of 6.3 seconds. Other Maine West first came in the 50‑yard dash in which Bob Chapman '73 turned in a school record time of 5.5.

The Maine West Warrior track team sits on top of its conference. The outlook for the oncoming outdoor track season looks very promising.
