This year's Senior Class Play, The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch, under the direction of Mr. Daryl Schultz, will be presented May 4 and 5 in the Maine West auditorium.
It is a fictional play that takes place in the old, old West that never really was. It's a play of folklore, make‑believe, and myth with characters to match.
There is the deadliest gun in the West, the busy undertaker, the dance hall girl, the brave efficient sheriff, the town doctor, and a reverend.
David Franks '74, who is Sneaky Finch, commented about the play, "It's coming along very well because everyone is right for his part. It's fun because it's light, but it is still challenging. The play is a takeoff of the typical stereotype western and makes fun of it, and I kind of enjoy doing that."
Jo Zalabeck '76, who plays Mrs. Blackwell, said, "It's a funny farcical western. It doesn't sound like much, but it's fun to work in. A lot of the credit should go to the scenery people because they put a lot more into it than people think."
