Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor:
I should really address this letter Dear Bill Wyatt and Mark Thompson because they are whom this letter is directed to.

First of all, I would like to clear up a few discrepancies concerning my cartoon in the March 9 issue of the Westerner.

For one thing, I did never imply that the three men in my cartoon were crooked politicians. From all the people I've talked to, you two are the only ones who have seemed to take it that way.

I am not, however, exactly a supporter of Mr. Nixon, and I will stand up and challenge anybody who thinks they can infringe on my rights to speak or cartoon what I feel.

As for the respect these men deserve for holding a high office as you put it, I think nothing of that. Until I feel they're doing a good job, I won't give them the time of day.

In conclusion, let me emphasize that as long as I feel that any politician is doing a bad job, I will continue to blast them in my cartoons. Sorry fellas, no public apologies from me, your favorite cartoonist.

Dear Editor:
Orchesis, Maine West dance club, would like to thank Mrs. Gelz for all the time and energy she took out this year and the past few months to help us put on a good show this year. We were really pleased with the way our show turned out, and without all the encouragement Mrs. Gelz gave us the show might not have turned out at all.

We'd also like to thank Roy Chapman for taking out time to narrate between dances.

Thanks to everyone who helped us put on our best show.

Dear Editor:
I guess it's unfair to begin with that the boys cannot willfully share the ping‑pong table. So, Thursday was set up as "Ladies Day." Now, on Thursday 15 girls share on table one day and the other four days 10 boys share the table. Since it really does not seem fair, we think girls should get two ping‑pong days.

The guys can be invited to play which is more than they have ever done.
