Papa Jo's To Offer Fun

By MINDY MALECKI

Recently, the groan of boredom has become louder and louder. Kids are complaining that there is never anything to do in "Deads Plaines." Unfortunately, I can't offer any miracles, but there is still one possibility of fun: Papa Jo's.

Papa Jo's, a place for kids to gather and listen to the latest musical groups, has just recently been remodeled. Food is now available, such as pizza, beef, hot dogs, and ice cream. The basement has also been remodeled and now includes a fireplace which makes it a comfortable room for just sitting an talking.

Various rock groups which will be performing at Papa Jo's in the future are Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes, Harvey Mandell Pure Food, Styx, Madura, Kracher, and Ruby Jones. Also appearing will be (possibly) the Dube Brothers, Wild Flower, a country and western group, and Catfish Hodge.

Papa Jo's is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, and from 11 am. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays. Music is featured from 9 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Admission is $2 or $3 depending on the featured group.

So, next time you're going to crawl the walls with boredom, try Papa Jo's. Mr. Victor Giovanini, driving instructor and one of the owners, guarantees a good time!
