Dust Off Your Dancin’ Shoes
Time Again for Proms Students Prepare for Fun

It's prom time again at Maine West, and both the Junior and Senior Classes are far into their preparation for the annual event.

The Junior Class will be leading off the proms as is the usual custom. As in past years preparation for these proms begins far before they ever are really here. Co‑chairmen Kris Beedy '74 and Marilyn Arrnbruster '74 along with six other committees have been working for more than six months on things such as getting a band, ordering bids and tickets, organizing the refreshments, organizing the publicity, and making plans for the decorations.

Some of the chairmen of these committees are Debbie Buntenbach '74, Karen McGavin '74, Vicki Richardson '74, Cindy Atkinson '74, and Jody Leer '74. As a special added attraction this year, Bruce Winchlechter '74, Junior Class president, along with other Junior Class Council members, have been working on a 16‑foot tall "Eiffel Tower" to go along with this year's theme of "Bonsoir Paris."

"Bonsoir Paris" will be held on May 25 in the Maine West auditorium, from 8 to 11 p.m. The bands, Mad John Fever and the Ron Phelps Orchestra, will be featured. Tickets will be on sale during lunch periods and in the bookstore for $2.50 per couple.

Also, after much planning, the Senior Class is proud to announce that their prom will be held on Saturday, June 9, at Michigan Shores Country Club in Wilmette, Illinois. The theme of this year's long awaited event is, "On the Threshold of a Dream." The prom will begin at 8:30 p.m. and will end at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Music will be provided by the Ross Anderson Band, which may sound familiar because it was the same band which was enjoyed by all those who attended last year's Senior Prom. Tickets will be on sale in the bookstore and in the cafeteria during lunch period for $3.50 per couple. Refreshments will be served at the country club. Michigan Shores Country Club is located on Euclid Avenue in Wilmette.
