The Maine West outdoor track teams have just about wrapped up their season except for post season activities.
The West trackmen finished third in the conference and second in their division. The team has only four seniors who contributed greatly to the team. They are Chip Barbour, Bob Chapman, Scott Pische, and Ken Meyers.
After districts this upcoming weekend, the Warrior track team will send Bill Klippert '74, who has taken five consecutive conference titles in the high hurdles, Greg Klebe '74, Chip Barbour '73, and two relay teams, the 880‑yard relay and the mile relay, downstate.
The 880‑yard relay has done an excellent job for the varsity outdoor cindermen considering they are all sophomores.

The outlook for next year's outdoor track season should be the best in the school's history. Coach Ronald Brown said, "They have high potentials."
They are freshman Scott Unger, who Coach Brown calls "the man of the future," a sophomore speedster named Art Mraz, and Bill Klippert who will potentially be the state champion this year in the high hurdles.
Now that the outdoor track season has almost come to a close, the Illinois State Track Competition is coming up. West's Bill Klippert will be competing. Bill is favored in the high hurdles event. Maine West is also sending the sophomore one‑mile relay team consisting of Norb Ploczej Randy VanVleck, Bill Wadman, and Scott Unger. The one‑mile relay team has broken every record they set in every outdoor track meet they have won.
With the track season coming to an end, Coach Brown remarked, "This has been one of the best years in Maine West track history."
