Carole To Be AFS Student;
Destination: Unknown

The A.F.S. student this year from Maine West is Carole Shekerjian '74. Carole does not know yet as to where she will be spending her three months as an exchange student but is waiting for word any day now from the A.F.S. headquarters in New York.

"It is a problem not knowing where you're going. The suspense is very exciting," explained Carole.

Carole filled out an application in September to be an exchange student along with 12 other students from Maine West. Each applicant was then given a 15‑minute interview and asked questions.

From this 12 four were picked, and there were other series of interviews. From the four then two were picked. Those selected were Chuck LaSota '74 and Carole. Chuck is now spending a year as an exchange student in Australia.

Carole was not able to choose where she will be going. She does know that it will be anywhere of 60 countries.

"The summer is going to be an interesting experience wherever I go because it will offer a different way of life."
