DOCKED IN CAFETERIA

In case you were wondering what the girls' Aquiana Club was doing in the cafeteria after school, they were holding what they call "land practices." In other words, practicing strokes and formations on days when the boys occupy the pool.

DRAMATIZING THE LAW

Fundamentals of Communication will present "The Law Takes Its Toll," a readers play starring 12 actors from that class. The presentation will be held on December 15 in L‑101. The play will be directed by senior Tom Pollworth and his assistant Mike McFarland, a sophomore.

The producer of the play is Steve Martini, and its sponsor is Mr. Phil Kardasz.

FOOD DRIVE SUCCESSFUL

The canned food drive held by Maine West to aid poor families in Des Plaines was very successful. Thanks to the drive, many families didn't starve on Thanksgiving.

THE PARTY'S OFF

The Junior Class PTC party, originally planned to be held on November 24, has been postponed. The party has been voted to be moved to a later date because of the anticipated lack of student participation. The future date is being sought. However, if you have any suggestions concerning the party, you are more than welcome to present them to the Junior Class council.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

December 9 will mark the day for the third annual Pancake Breakfast. Student Council will again sponsor this event to raise money for A.F.S. Tickets are being sold by Council representatives at $1 for adults and $.75 for children. The breakfast will be held in the cafeteria from 8 am. to 1 p.m. for the late risers. SAFETY FIRST!

In lieu of the upcoming holiday season, let's all pitch in and make it a safe one. This joyous season shouldn't bring tragedy every time. Remind your parents to drive carefully and let's have a safe, happy holiday for once.

SOPHS HAVE "CENTS"

Three cheers for the sophomore class who won the penny drive.

"TOYLAND"

This year's Christmas formal has been christened "Toyland." The formal will take place on December 20 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The evening will be accompanied by the music of Al Ford's Orchestra. Toys are needed for decoration for the dance and will in turn be donated to needy children.

A PROMISING SPORTS SCENE

It should be an active and exciting season in sports. The calendar is packed with events of almost every kind.

Let's not forget when at games, home or away, to do our best and cheer for our Maine West Warriors. Let them know that we're out there backing them up. It Helps! As for the activities, check the sports calendar issued to you in homeroom.
