"Toyland," the theme for this year's Christmas Formal, will be held on Wednesday, December 20, from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. Al Ford's Orchestra will provide the music. Tickets are $2.50 per couple and may be purchased in the bookstore.
Many unique features will be seen at this year's Christmas Formal, but the decorations and the story behind them will be the most emphasized aspect of the formal. Since the cost of decorations was expensive, Student Council asked that students donate toys that they no longer wanted. By working with St. Stephen's Church, Student Council will donate these toys to the needy children.
Christmas cookies and Christmas punch will be served at the dance in A‑201, where Christmas music will be piped in to keep the Christmas atmosphere. Two elves, Janice Marino '74 and Terry Weiszmann '74, will be at the door taking tickets and passing out candy canes.
A photographer will be on hand to take pictures of couples under the mistletoe.

The Christmas Court was announced yesterday and Mark Eichhorn '73, president of Student Council, will crown the queen at the dance. The court consists of freshman attendant, Rena Turley; sophomore attendant, Paula Potter; junior attendant, Margie Ziegler; senior attendant, Debbie Kost; and the senior queen, Lilly Avello.
Tracy Musselman '73, Laurie Bachmann '73, Pam Chimis '74, Gail Singer '73, Nancy Petrovich '76, Gail Kaechele '74, Jody Mihelcich '76, Karla Schmies '75, and many others are working on the social committee to make the Christmas Formal memorable for students as well as for the needy children.
Beth King '73, the chairman of the social committee, expects a lot of people to attend the formal even though it is being held on a Wednesday night. "It's going to be so beautiful; how can I explain it? It will be as if students from Maine West are walking into Santa's workshop."
If you have any toys which are in fairly good condition that you would like to donate, call Beth King at 299‑3950 or bring them to the Student Council Office (R‑103).
