Coming Up Soon: Tryouts for Musical

Auditions for the musical, The King and I, will resume after the Christmas holidays. This change is due to the Music Department's busy schedule of Christmas performances.

The King and I is the story of an English widow and her young son who go to Siam to teach the king's countless children. The rest of the musical tells how "Mrs. Anna's" and the King's friendship and respect grow for each other.

The general director of the musical will be Mr. Robert Kuite; the vocal director, Mr. Donald lord; drama director, Mr. Ronald Mills; and Mr. Francis Vaupel will conduct the orchestra. Mr. John Craigle is the set and costume designer; Mr. Robert Pelikan is in charge of the technical and

stage production; Mrs. Susan Giles, choreography; Mr. Robert Soltysik, lighting; and Mr. Paul Masnusson, publicity. Applications are now being accepted for student directors.

Auditions will be held and the entire show will be cast during the first two weeks after Christmas vacation. Re‑auditions are possible and cassette recordings of the piano accompaniments will be available for those who wish to practice during vacation. You must bring your own blank tapes if you wish to take a copy home.

Further announcements will be posted outside R‑207 and L‑103.
