RAH, RAH!

An all‑school pep assembly will be held during seventh period today. There will be demonstrations and speeches by four team representatives. The Cheerleaders will perform as usual, and the PomPon girls may appear in new Christmas outfits! The Maine South game is tonight at 7:30 in the spectator gym.

CIGARETTE ANYONE?

An open hearing will be held at Maine East on January 17 at 7:30. The topic will be whether or not the four Maine schools will be allowed to have a smoking area. Parents, principals, faculty members, and students have been alloted time periods to speak before the board in favor of or against this idea.

SOPH GIRLS IN SPOTLIGHT

Elections for the 13 sophomore calendar girls for the 1973-1974 calendar will be held in January, so start smiling girls!

MR. AND MRS. S. CLAUS

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will again make their annual appearance during fourth, fifth, and sixth periods on Wednesday, December 20. They will be seated at the head of the cafeteria on their respective thrones. Any student can sit on either's lap and tell them what they want for Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Santa will also be distributing Christmas candy canes.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

All students and teachers will be freed from the hard work of school on Wednesday, December 20, at 3:27 for the Christmas holidays. Vacation will end on January 3, 1973, at 8 a.m. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Westerner!
