Gymnastics
Season Underway

Gymnastics has finally started. The first meet Maine West had was with Addison Trails on December 1. Addison defeated both the varsity and sophomore teams.

The next meet was held at home against Waukegan. The Maine West sophomore and varsity teams both lost again. The varsity went down with the score, 75‑105. Mark Schludt '74 and Bill Lumpp '73 were the outstanding gymnasts for Maine West.

On Friday, December 8, the varsity team lost to Niles East, 79-124. The sophomores were also defeated. The following day, December 9, the

sophomores won against Proviso West. However, the varsity team was defeated 66-88.

Although the varsity gymnastic team has a record of 0‑4 the team does have some outstanding gymnasts. They are Mark Schludt '74, Phil DaPrato '73, and Ken Heller '74.

Quite a few freshmen went out for the team, but the team still needs more.

On Wednesday, December 20, at 7 p.m. the gymnastics teams will be traveling to Glenbrook South for a meet.
