The beautiful, smiling, and in many cases, tearful faces of 13 sophomore girls appeared in the
Student Council office during homeroom on Tuesday, January 16, to receive flowers and congratulations for being elected as the 1973‑1974 calendar girls.
The girls are Margo Bleharski, Cindy Cole, Gail Gawel, Nina Kleinhans, Julie McCannon, Kathy Narusewicz, Kerry Piest, Lynne Sexton, Cindy Stogowski, Nancy Tinaglia, Ellen Vans, and Stacy Vande Vusse.
The 1973‑1974 cover girl is Paula Potter.
The girls' first steps on the path to calendar girls were taken almost four weeks ago when 33 girls were nominated in

sophomore homerooms. Two weeks ago a preliminary ballot was given to sophomores to narrow the number down to 26 finalists.
The 26 finalists appeared on stage during homeroom on Monday, January 16, for a sophomore class assembly. As each girl was introduced she walked across stage to face the audience and got in line at the rear of the stage.
After all the girls were introduced a second time, the Sophomore Class made their final decision by voting the one girl they considered most attractive.
Now the girls will choose the month they would like to be pictured in. Pictures will be taken throughout the coming year. Dates will be put on the calendar during the summer, and the 1973‑1974 calendar will be sold in September.
