WEATHER STATION KEEPS COOL

The Maine West Weather Station with the help of Mr. Joseph Jobst has completed its records for the year of 1972. The weather station sends daily reports to the weather bureau climatologist at Champaign and to the weather bureau office in Chicago.

MMM GOOD!

Steve Fager and Carol Trombatore, second year food occupation students, sponsored a French toast and porky link breakfast on behalf of the food occupations program on January 13. Students participated in the project as part of their final. Other members of the class helped to raise the $85 profit.

NEXT MISS ILLINOIS?

Des Plaines will be represented in the Miss Illinois Teen Ager pagent by Vicki Richardson '74. The pageant will be held July 6 and 7 at the Conrad Hilton Hotel in Chicago. If she is selected as Miss Illinois Teen Ager, she will represent Illinois at the Miss National Teen Ager finals in Atlanta, Georgia, in late August.

SENIOR EXERCISES OBSERVED

This year, for the first time, mid‑year commencement exercises will be held for January graduates at the four Maine Township High Schools. Traditional commencement exercises will be observed at each school. Graduating seniors from Maine West will be awarded diplomas on Thursday, January 25, at 8 p.m. in the Little Theatre. Parents, relatives, and friends of the graduates are invited to attend the ceremony and reception.

HOT ITEMS FOR SHOP PROGRAMS

The welding instructional program at Maine West has been brightened by the donation of special equipment. Welding machines and accessories have been donated by Chemetron Corporation of Chicago. The equipment will be used mostly in the industrial arts and shop programs for both student teaching as well as in adult night courses.

FREE PIZZA!

"Time Out" is a musical which will be presented January 27 at 7:30 p.m. It is being held at the Des Plaines Bible Church and everyone is invited. The cost is nothing. There will also be refreshments and free pizza. Invite your friends.
