Girls' Volleyball Team Is
Undefeated in CSL Play

The girls' volleyball team now stands undefeated with wins over Niles East (2‑0), Deerfield (2‑1), and Niles West (2‑1). On January 20 Maine West challenged Maine South and Niles North. The league play‑offs will be held on February 3 at Niles North High School.

The girls making up this year's outstanding team are Denise Bell '73, Maureen Brock '75, Cindie Brodie '73, Monica Polacek '74, Bonnie Serone '73, Kathy Shuttleworth '75, Kim Tuttle '74, and Kathy Zyrkowski '73. It should be noted that the volleyball "B" team is also undefeated. Both teams are strong contenders for the Central Suburban League title.

The girls' gymnastics league play‑offs will be held at 4:30 p.m. on January 26, and at 1 p.m. on January 27. The hosting school for the play‑offs will be Maine North.

The three outstanding gymnasts on the team this year are Carol Cahill '74, on the Unevens, beam, and vaulting; Kim Thompson '74, on free exercise, on the beam, and unevens; and Ellen Vana '75, in vaulting and free exercise.


The fencing team has won two meets against Schaumburg and lost one to Arlington. At the fencing triangular held at Maine West, the team placed second. Arlington High School hosted a fencing triangular meet on January 12 and a dual yesterday. On January 26 Schaumburg will host a fencing triangular.
