Thespian Society Has Talent,
Shouldn't Go Unnoticed

One of the Maine West productions that sneaks past us shamefully unnoticed is the Thespian Plays. As we interviewed Mr. Ronald Mills, he explained to us that the plays were moved to this time of year instead of toward the end of school, so the student body can get a "good representation of dramatic ability for district and state tournaments."

Two one‑act plays and four scenes, drama and comedy, will be performed by the students on Friday and Saturday, February 2 and 3, at 8 p.m.

The two one‑act plays that will be put on are "Chambermusic" and "Solitaire."

'Chambermusic" is a play that is set in a mental institution, with characters in absurd situations that we may see in everyday life. "Solitaire" by Robert Anderson "is a play set in future times when there are no families." Mr. Mills informed us, "With high divorce rates and woman's lib, it relates to current issues."

Two comedy scenes, "Beautiful People" by William Soroyan and "School for Wives" by Moliere, will be performed also, along with two dramatic scenes from "of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck and "Night Must Fall" by Emyln Williams, in which a murder scene will be acted out by the students.

Everyone is invited and urged to attend this performance.
