Quad Council

Quad Council, the organization developed to better the relations between the four Maine schools and the superintendent, has been working in quite a few areas since it has started. The first was the smoking lounge, which the Council voted in favor of. The proposal was given to the Board of Education, and their final decision will be told on February 19.

This isn't the only project the Council is working on. A committee was set up to look into the selling of textbooks. Some students feel they have to pay too much for their textbooks, yet when they sell them back they don't even get half their money back or else the book is discontinued.

A second committee on semester exams was organized to propose to the superintendent, Dr. Short, that the exams should be based on the decision of the individual teacher as to whether the semester exam will be given.

A proposal was also made by a representative that a student bill of rights should be developed.

The Quad Council meetings are open to everyone who's interested.
