VOL. XV, NO. 1
Dear Editor:
We believe in school spirit, but we do not believe in mandatory attendance for all school assemblies. For those people who are in school to jump and cheer our teams to victory, pep assemblies are great. There are those of us, however, who are in school to learn and feel that our time could be better spent than sitting in a study hail or pep rally.
School spirit is something that cannot be instilled in a person by forced assemblies. For those of us who are responsive enough to handle such freedom as being allowed not to attend an assembly, we feel that attendance in such a case should not be required.
