We already have paper plates; will we have paper food next? We will if federal health agencies approve of a human food supplement presently being tested by a Minnesota Green Giant Company and an Iowa milling firm.
According to a Denver University microbiologist, Dr. Brooks Church, fungi can change any type of discarded paper into a food supplement ‑a mold having as much as 50 per cent protein. Currently used in animal feed, the fungus has been successfully grown from leftover paper in factories.
At least it might be one way of making today's news digestible.
