Super Saturday Attracts Big Crowd
Last Saturday, March 30, was Super Saturday. From noon until 5 p.m. the carnival was held in the C‑wing gym and the classrooms in C‑wing. Among the attractions were the Cake Walk, balloon men, and games of skill. The carnival was organized by Lance Carlile '74, vice‑president of Student Council.
From 4 to 7 p.m. Brotherhood Society sponsored a Spaghetti Dinner in the cafeteria. From 6 until 8 p.m. the Marx Brothers' film, "Duck Soup," was shown in the auditorium. German Club organized roller skating in C-wing gym from 7 to 9 p.m.
By 8 p.m. there was a capacity crowd, so many people were turned away. The highlight of the evening was the 50's Dance held in the cafeteria from 8 until 11 p.m.
The dance was organized by Terry Weiszmann '74. A record player was hooked up to the microphone in the cafeteria and golden oldies from the fifties were played. The songs which proved to be most popular were "Rock Around the Clock," 'Blue Velvet," and "Sixteen Candles." The dance was considered to be one of the best of its kind and had the best turnout of any informal dance.
