The Maine West tennis team got off to a very good start, winning five out of seven meets. On April 10 the team lost to the Maine South Hawks 3-2. Later that same day the team played a rescheduled meet against Proviso East. Rick Petrucci '75 playing third singles won, and the first doubles team of Steve Niles '74 and Jim Wittbold '75 and the doubles team of Ed Addlemen '74 and Steve Semler '75 were also victorious. Steve Niles and Jim Wittbold are now undefeated.
In the Maine West Quadrangular on April 13 the Warriors defeated Wheaton Central 3-2, Forest View 3-2, and Glenbard East 3-2. Both doubles teams were victorious. Rick Petrucci scored against Wheaton; Jeff Trecker '75 beat Forest View; and Frank Lux '74 scored a point against Glenbard.

On April 16 the Warriors played at Glenbrook North, but they were defeated 3-2. Rick Petrucci and the Niles-Wittbold team were again victorious.
On April 18 the Warriors beat Glenbrook South at home. Frank Lux, Rick Petrucci, and the Niles‑Wittbold doubles duo was again victorious.
On April 25 the Warriors played Maine North. They played in the Barrington Invitational on the twenty‑seventh and played Niles North in Skokie on April 30. They also played Niles West yesterday and will play two invitationals tomorrow: the varsity at Glenbrook South, and the freshman squad will host their invitational.
On April 18 the Warriors beat Glenbrook South at home. Frank Lux, Rick Petrucci, and the Niles‑Wittbold doubles duo was again victorious.
